POCO F7 vs. Galaxy S25: Xiaomi Says ‘Game On’ with 120W Charging and 2K Gaming

Xiaomi unveiled its new smartphone lineup, the POCO F7 Series, promoting it repeatedly by comparing it to Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Series and claiming superior performance.

Today, according to the IT industry, Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO repeatedly mentioned the Galaxy S25 Series during its presentation at the POCO F7 Series launch event held at 5 p.m. the previous day at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore.

Angus Ng, Head of Global Product Marketing at POCO, stated that they’ve equipped the F7 Pro with a 6000mAh battery and 90W hypercharging, which puts them ahead of the competition. He demonstrated on screen how the POCO F7 Pro outperforms the Galaxy S25+, which has a 4900mAh battery and 45W charging.

Ng added that the POCO F7 Ultra wasn’t created just to compete; it was built to lead the market with overwhelming performance. He highlighted that the POCO F7 Ultra scored 2,843,461 points in the AnTuTu benchmark, surpassing the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s score of 2,429,222.

Xiaomi also pointed out that the POCO F7 Ultra supports an average of 120 FPS and 2K super-resolution in gaming, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra is limited to a maximum of 60 FPS and a top resolution of 846p. The presentation also noted that after one hour of gaming, the POCO F7 Ultra reached a maximum internal temperature of 40.8°C, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra reached 42.1°C.

Ng also remarked, “The Galaxy S25 Ultra supports 45W wired and 15W wireless charging and costs over $1,000 (about 1.46 million won). That might seem appealing to iPhone users, but we won’t settle for that level.” He emphasized that the POCO F7 Ultra supports 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.

When revealing the price of the POCO F7 Ultra, he again compared it to the Galaxy S25 Ultra and pointed out that the POCO F7 Pro lacks nothing compared to the Galaxy S24 FE. His constant comparisons to Samsung Galaxy smartphones even drew laughter from the audience at the event.

At the press briefing following the launch event, when asked why he frequently compared the POCO F7 to the Galaxy S25, Ng explained that smartphones in the $500–$700 price range, especially in the ultra segment, are scarce, and models offering similar performance to POCO are difficult to find.

He continued acknowledging Samsung’s influence, stating that he loved the company so much that he used only Samsung devices six years ago. He added that over the past decade, Samsung has set the standard for Android phones, but they aim to compete with Samsung and other brands.

He added that iPhone users are highly loyal, persuading them to switch devices harder. He noted that they continue strengthening POCO’s unique technology and cost-effectiveness-focused strategy by benchmarking various brands, including Samsung.
