Olympic Emotions in a Can: Coca-Cola’s Special Edition for Paris 2024

Coca-Cola Korea

On the 18th, Coca-Cola announced its plans to unveil a new digital advertisement that tells the story of people worldwide enjoying a festival of friendship and unity with Coca-Cola during the 2024 Paris Olympic season.

The advertisement begins with a scene of Tatjana Schoenmaker, who set a world record at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, celebrating and hugging other athletes. It shows the warm friendship and unity in the Olympic stadium through the scenes of athletes encouraging and celebrating each other.

The warm emotions that started at the stadium continue to the 2024 Paris Olympic Stadium. A woman, watching the game while drinking Coca-Cola in the stands starts sharing the excitement of the Olympic games by hugging a vendor passing by in the stands. This feeling begins to spread to more people. Whether it’s a couple enjoying their vacation, chefs cooking in the kitchen, or astronauts in space, the friendship and unity that started at the Olympics reach beyond the world and into space. Everyone shares hugs with warm emotions and friendship, regardless of location. Against the backdrop of people worldwide enjoying excitement with Coca-Cola, the advertisement ends with the narration, “The festival of friendship and unity has returned with Olympic Worldwide Partner Coca-Cola.”

Since the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, Coca-Cola has been the longest-standing Olympic partner, bringing the excitement of the Games to a global audience. With each Olympic cycle, Coca-Cola commemorates the event by releasing a special limited edition. For the upcoming 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, Coca-Cola has unveiled a limited Olympic Special Edition. This packaging features the iconic Olympic rings and an illustration of the Eiffel Tower, symbolizing Paris. For the first time, Coca-Cola has also introduced a 16.5 oz jumbo can, allowing customers to enjoy even more of their favorite beverage during the Games.

A Coca-Cola official mentioned that for the past 90 years, as an Olympic partner, Coca-Cola has launched various initiatives to ensure that people worldwide can associate the thrilling moments of the Olympics with their brand. Their current advertisement aims to remind people of the Olympics’ role as a platform for friendship and unity. Furthermore, with the Coca-Cola Olympic Special Edition, they hope to enrich people’s magical moments with their loved ones.
