FBI Confirms: Trump Shot in the Ear During Campaign Rally

Yonhap News

The FBI has confirmed that the injury to Donald Trump’s right ear during a campaign rally was indeed caused by a bullet, resolving the ongoing debate about the nature of the injury.

At a Senate hearing yesterday, FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate clarified that there was “no doubt” that Trump sustained an injury to his ear from a bullet. This assertion directly contradicts earlier comments made by FBI Director Christopher Wray during a congressional hearing on the 24th, where he expressed uncertainty about whether the injury was caused by a bullet or shrapnel, sparking significant controversy and backlash.

Reacting to the confusion, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to clarify the situation by posting that, unfortunately, a bullet hit his ear, and it was a strong hit. He explicitly stated, “No shrapnel or glass is flying through the ear, only a bloodstained bullet.”

The FBI later started to clarify the situation further, confirming, “What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces.”

Adding to the controversy, during a meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu last Friday, Trump was seen without a bandage and showed no visible injuries, fueling ongoing speculation about the exact circumstances of the incident.

The controversy intensified when TMZ published an enlarged photo of Trump’s ear, stating that it remains a “mystery” whether a bullet caused the injury. This fueled further debate over the exact circumstances of the incident.
