Leaked Pics Show Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 — Thinner, Lighter, and Sleek

Images of Samsung Electronics’ next-generation foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, have been leaked ahead of its official unveiling on July 9 in Brooklyn, New York.

On Friday, tech industry insiders reported that IT tipster Jukanlosreve shared three photos of what appears to be the Galaxy Z Fold 7 on his X account, captioned “Z Fold 7”.

The device in the photos features a blue shadow color and is strikingly thin when unfolded. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to measure just 8.9 mm when folded, which is 2.2mm thinner than its predecessor. Its weight is likely to drop to 215g, 24g lighter than the previous model’s 239g.

The photos also appear to confirm rumors that Samsung has removed the Olive Ring design that surrounded the rear camera lenses on the Galaxy S25 series. The positions of the speakers and SIM card slot are clearly visible as well.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is generating significant anticipation with its rumored specifications. It’s expected to feature an 8-inch external display, a 6.5-inch internal display, a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The rear camera setup is rumored to include a 200-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x zoom, along with a 10-megapixel front camera. Other anticipated features include a 4400mAh battery and an IP48 rating for water and dust resistance.

Samsung Electronics is set to host its Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event on July 9 in Brooklyn, New York. The company will showcase the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and a new series of smartwatches. This marks Samsung’s return to New York for an Unpacked event, three years after unveiling the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 in August 2022.
