Qualcomm Technologies announced on Tuesday that it successfully hosted the Qualcomm IoT Partner & Tech Day at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas on Monday,
Qualcomm has recently been accelerating innovation and creating new use cases by implementing its Internet of Things (IoT) technologies across various sectors, including home appliances, robotics, smart factories, manufacturing, and logistics. This event was organized to strengthen partnerships with domestic clients and partners, especially developers, in the industrial and embedded IoT fields, and to share Qualcomm’s next-generation technologies and solutions based on on-device artificial intelligence (AI).
The event drew over 200 attendees from key clients and partners, who shared visions and gained deeper insights into Qualcomm’s technology roadmap and solutions. Notably, Qualcomm highlighted Qualcomm DragonWing, its industrial business-to-business (B2B) brand announced earlier this year. Qualcomm DragonWing is Qualcomm’s B2B platform brand that combines AI, high-performance, low-power computing, and diverse connectivity, encompassing industrial IoT, embedded IoT, networking, and infrastructure solutions.
At the event, Qualcomm unveiled the product roadmap for the Dragonwing IQ series, along with operating system (OS) roadmaps and policies like Qualcomm Linux, Ubuntu, and Windows 11 IoT. They also introduced the Qualcomm Dragonwing RB3 second-generation development kit and the Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ-9075 evaluation kit, designed for developers’ quick evaluation and prototyping of Qualcomm Dragonwing IoT processors.
The company also highlighted MLOps (machine learning operations) solutions and applications from their recent acquisition of Edge Impulse, emphasizing the enhancement of developer-focused AI service capabilities and the acceleration of on-device AI adoption across various industries.
Additionally, Qualcomm showcased its technical capabilities that practically support technological acceleration and innovation by introducing various development tools for efficient on-device AI development, such as the Qualcomm AI Hub and Qualcomm Device Cloud. They provided detailed information and a demonstration of Qualcomm Intelligent Multimedia SDK, essential for multimedia and machine learning service development. Also, Qualcomm covered in detail the Qualcomm Intelligent Robotics Product SDK, which includes VSLAM, Qualcomm AI Engine Direct, and other software (SW) modules and SDKs necessary for industrial and consumer robot development.
The event featured demo booths from eight partner companies, including Advantech, Thundercomm, Unitrontech, Maum AI, Nota AI, Cochl, MDS Technology, and WithRobot. These companies showcased IoT hardware and on-device AI software solutions based on Qualcomm Dragonwing IoT processors, facilitating active on-site networking among participants.
Kwon Oh Hyung, Senior Vice President of Qualcomm Technologies and President of Asia-Pacific, commemorated Qualcomm’s 40th anniversary by expressing gratitude to long-standing partners. He explained that with the mission to enable intelligent computing everywhere, Qualcomm is leading digital transformation across industries through high-performance, low-power computing, AI, and industry-leading connectivity technologies. He added that the company will continue to provide comprehensive support for implementing new IoT applications that can revolutionize customer products and businesses by integrating hardware, software, and services.
