Apple will unveil iOS18, which includes improved artificial intelligence (AI) features, at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 10.

There is growing interest in whether call recording features will be included. This is due to rumors that Apple is preparing a call recording and summary service as one of the core features of iOS 18.

Apple Hub, which covers Apple-related news, has highlighted the expected new features of iOS 18 via X (formerly Twitter).

According to Apple Hub, iOS 18 is expected to offer various features, including the following:

  • AI functions known as Apple Intelligence;
  • improved Siri;
  • more personalized home screen;
  • icon placement anywhere on the home screen;
  • app icon color change;
  • overall built-in app adjustment improvements;
  • message RSC support;
  • message scheduling;
  • iMessage text effects;
  • auto-generated emojis;
  • major changes in Safari;
  • smart song switching in Apple Music;
  • auto-generated playlists in Apple Music;
  • password app;
  • improved calculator app;
  • new user interface (UI) in the settings app;
  • user-defined routes in Apple Maps;
  • redesigned control center;
  • hearing aid mode in AirPods Pro;
  • next-generation of CarPlay and more.

There are also predictions that the memo app and voice memos will be improved. According to Apple Insider, the memo app is expected to offer in-app audio recording, audio-to-text conversion, and summary functions based on large language models (LLM).

Through Siri, users will be able to do the following:

  • open individual voice memos and recordings;
  • create new recordings in voice memos;
  • pause recordings;
  • create, open, and delete folders in voice memos;
  • delete specific recordings by name, creation date, and audio content;
  • search voice memo recordings and more

Some suggest that Apple will introduce a call recording and summary service from iOS 18, but no related content has been found in foreign media yet. If Apple provides call recording on iPhones through iOS 18, it would eliminate one of the advantages of Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
