U.S. Election Drama Transports to London with Star-Studded Fundraisers

News1

The election campaigns of President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump will face off this week in London.

Both camps are holding a fundraising event in London this week.

Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr. and his fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former Fox News host, will attend the fundraising event in London on the 12th (local time).

On the same day, Biden’s campaign will hold a fundraising event hosted by Anna Wintour, the British-born American Vogue editor and fashion icon.

Wintour, who donated to Biden’s campaign during the 2020 election, has been busy this year. She also hosted a Biden fundraiser in March during Paris Fashion Week in France.

According to the Financial Times (FT), Trump Jr. and his fiancée will attend a fundraising event hosted by Holly Valance, a former Australian TV star who turned into a right-wing activist, and her British real estate mogul husband Nick Candy.

At the event, Trump Jr. will be collecting political donations from wealthy right-wing Americans living in London.

While big players from Silicon Valley and Wall Street have started to donate large political contributions, Trump’s campaign is significantly lagging behind Biden’s campaign in fundraising for this year’s election.

In a statement, Trump Jr. criticized Trump’s guilty verdict by the New York Manhattan Court jury, claiming Biden had influenced the court to manipulate the verdict against his father.

However, he stated that financial support is pouring in from American citizens worldwide following the guilty verdict, adding he is excited to see his friends in London who are ready to “make America great again” in November.

Invited to the Trump fundraiser are U.K. politicians who led Brexit, such as Nigel Farage and Matthew Elliott. Former Prime Minister Liz Truss was also invited but reportedly unable to attend.

With Farage’s contribution, this event is expected to showcase the close ties between conservative right-wing groups in the U.S. and U.K.
