South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on Thursday that 117,925 vehicles across 49 models imported and sold by Volvo Cars Korea, Mercedes-Benz Korea, MAN Truck & Bus Korea, Jaguar Land Rover Korea, and Nissan Korea will be voluntarily recalled for manufacturing defects.

Volvo Cars is recalling 95,573 units of eight models, including the XC60, starting from April 21 due to software errors in the accident recording devices that may not record the driving information normally. Additionally, 1,560 units of the XC60 and 2 other models will be recalled beginning on Friday because of the possibility of a fire caused by a defect in the drive batteries.

Starting this Friday, Mercedes-Benz is initiating a recall for 17,285 units across nine models, including the S580 4MATIC, due to the brake hoses’ insufficient durability, which could lead to brake oil leakage.

Since April 1, MAN Truck & Bus Korea has been conducting a recall for 1,515 units of the TGX tractor and 23 other models. An overload in the central vehicle control unit, which monitors and controls all electronic devices in the vehicle, may cause unexpected gear changes.

Jaguar Land Rover will begin a recall on April 14 for 1,401 units of four models, including the New Range Rover P530 LWB. The recall addresses moisture ingress into the rear camera, which may result in the improper display of rear images.

Nissan Korea started recalling 591 PATHFINDER units on April 1 due to corrosion in the manual hood release mechanism, which could have caused the hood to open unexpectedly while driving.

Vehicle owners can verify if their vehicle is subject to a recall and check specific defect information by entering their vehicle number and VIN on the recall center’s website.
