‘The Simpsons’ Predict Kamala Harris as First Female President—Again!

The Simpsons has sparked discussion with claims that it predicted Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential candidacy 24 years ago.

Multiple U.S. media outlets reported that the longest-running sitcom animated series is once again hailed as a modern-day Nostradamus.

In an episode aired on March 19, 2000, the storyline featured Lisa Simpson, the second daughter of the Simpson family, running for president as the first female president of the United States in 2030.

Lisa Simpson appeared wearing a purple jacket and a pearl necklace, which closely resembled Kamala Harris’s outfit during her inauguration as the first female U.S. Vice President in 2021.

After President Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race, Harris emerged as a leading Democratic candidate, making The Simpsons prediction of the first female presidential candidate in the U.S. particularly relevant.

In the episode, Lisa Simpson takes office in 2030, succeeding the sitting president, Donald Trump, a scenario that sparked attention when Trump assumed the presidency 17 years later.

On the 21st, Al Jean, writer for The Simpsons, posted images of Lisa Simpson and Harris side by side on his social media and stated, “I am proud to be a part of The Simpsons prediction.”

The Simpsons has previously been recognized for episodes that seemingly predict the future. As a result, the show is regarded as the modern-day Nostradamus in the U.S.

In 2012, the series depicted Lady Gaga flying through the air during a performance, a scene that came to life in 2017 when she performed a similar stunt during the Super Bowl halftime show.

The show also foresaw the emergence of advanced technologies in the 1990s, such as cell phones capable of video calls and smartwatches. Additionally, it predicted disasters like the COVID-19 pandemic and the sinking of a tourist submarine attempting to view the Titanic wreck.
