Putin and Kim’s AI-Generated Adventures: A Viral Sensation!

Photos generated by Artificial intelligence (AI) featuring Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un have been spreading online since their June summit in Pyongyang.

As of July 6, numerous photos featuring unusual scenes with Putin and Kim have been posted on social networking services such as X. All the images were created using AI.

The photos consist of various scenes, including two men surrounded by beautiful women holding beers and laughing, riding a carousel together, smoking in a car, and wearing sunglasses while on a boat at a tourist spot. A significant number of these images were posted by internet users.

In June, Putin visited North Korea for the first time in 24 years and signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement with Kim after their summit. The recent appearance of AI-generated images of the two leaders online is due to this event.

For the summit, North Korea decorated Pyongyang with 15,000 Russian flags for Putin’s visit along with greeting banners that were set up everywhere the President’s car was expected to pass. It was reported that Kim personally welcomed Putin at the airport despite his late-night arrival and also personally saw him off when he left.

Russian media reported, “The line of citizens welcoming him stretched over 12.4 miles,” adding, “No Russian president has ever received such a large-scale reception.”
