SEVENTEEN’s Going Together Campaign Succeeds in East Timor

News1

Male K-pop group Seventeen has reaped the rewards of the educational campaign, Going Together #GoingTogether, which they have been promoting in partnership with the UNESCO Korean Committee.

On May 14th, Pledis Entertainment announced, “Two local learning centers funded by Seventeen’s Going Together donations opened their doors last April in Timor-Leste.”

The local learning centers were built in Oecusse and Manatuto. A wide-range of life skills and literacy education will be taught at the centers, including computer, sewing, Korean, and English. Through this, it is expected that approximately 300 people from the educationally marginalized group will have the opportunity to learn each year.

Since August 2022, Seventeen has been promoting Going Together with the UNESCO Korean Committee, spreading the importance of education worldwide.

At the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum held in November last year at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France, Seventeen was given a special session where they delivered a speech and performed for about an hour. During the event, Seventeen announced their commitment to supporting the development of educational infrastructure in the third world for a better future of education.

Meanwhile, Seventeen has consistently donated to children’s organizations, children’s foundations, and vulnerable groups since their debut, spreading positive influence.
