A case involving a Chinese male YouTuber who was forcibly hugged and stalked by an unknown woman on the street is garnering attention. The man reported the woman to the police.
According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), on the 19th, a Chinese male influencer named Yizai, who has more than 90,000 followers, was waiting at a bus stop in Beijing when a strange woman suddenly hugged him from behind.
Yizai captured and shared the moment he was chased by the woman in a live video.
In the video, the woman who forcibly hugged Yizai shouted, “You are handsome,” and continued to follow him.
Yizai told her, “Back off. Don’t harass me. I’ll report you to the police,” and “Aren’t you ashamed of doing this in public?” However, the woman followed him, pleading, “Don’t report me to the police.”
The woman even followed Yizai onto a bus. Another passenger tried to stop the woman as she attempted to approach Yizai.
Yizai warned her, “We don’t know each other. Don’t come close to me.”
The woman followed Yizai after he got off the bus, and he eventually ran into a restaurant bathroom to escape. The woman then headed to the restaurant kitchen, and Yizai managed to flee to another restaurant and find a different route out with the help of the restaurant staff.
Yizai took a taxi home and reported the woman to the police for stalking him.
According to the police investigation, the woman has mental health issues, and it was revealed that she had stalked other men in the past.
Yizai emphasized, “Sexual harassment is not related to the victim’s appearance or gender. It is the result of the perpetrator’s character or mental state.”
As the video spread widely online, netizens commented, “Men also need to learn how to protect themselves when going out,” one netizen shared their experience, saying, “I have faced a similar situation. A woman kept following me. It was terrifying.”
