The U.S. job market in September outperformed expectations.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported on Thursday that the economy added 119,000 jobs in September, significantly exceeding the market forecast of 50,000 new positions.
However, the unemployment rate climbed to its highest level in four years. At 4.4%, it marks the highest point since October 2021, up from 4.3% in August.
