LS Eco Energy announced on Tuesday that it has secured a major contract with a leading global tech company to supply ultra-high-voltage power cables for building a massive data center network in western Java, Indonesia. This facility will function as a cloud region, integrating multiple data centers to enhance stability, security, and resilience to failures. Following their expansions in Singapore and Malaysia, big tech companies are now setting their sights on Indonesia to further penetrate the Southeast Asian market.
This contract marks a significant expansion for LS Eco Energy into the ultra-high-voltage cables, following its contract in May to supply medium and low-voltage power cables to the Philippines’ largest data center, the STT Fairview Campus.
According to LS Eco Energy, Indonesia is rapidly emerging as Southeast Asia’s largest digital economy, leveraging its population of 270 million and strategic location.
Lee Sang-ho, CEO of LS Eco Energy, commented, “We are forecasting double-digit annual growth in the Southeast Asian data center market. Our strategy is to bolster our local production and supply chain to secure a larger footprint in the global cloud infrastructure supply network.”
