Qualcomm’s Top AI Chip Now Powers the Galaxy Z Fold 7

On Thursday, Qualcomm Technologies announced that its Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform will be featured in Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is set to be released worldwide.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite platform for Galaxy incorporates the next-generation custom Qualcomm Incorporated Oryon CPU, the world’s fastest mobile central processing unit (CPU), alongside the leading Qualcomm Hexagon Neural Processing Unit (NPU).

O.H. Kwon, President of Qualcomm Incorporated Asia-Pacific and Senior Vice President of Qualcomm Technologies, stated, “We’re excited to bring the proven power of Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy — first introduced with the Galaxy S25 series globally—to the Galaxy Z Fold7.” He added, “This launch marks a pivotal moment in our strategic partnership with Samsung, as we bring advanced AI, superior performance, and seamless connectivity to the ultra-slim foldable form factor, setting new standards for mobile innovation.”
