Sami Sheen Says She’s Removing Implants After Health Scare

Sami Sheen, the 21-year-old influencer on the adult content platform OnlyFans and the daughter of Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen, has opened up about her struggles with side effects following her breast augmentation surgery.

On Tuesday, Sheen took to social media to announce her decision to remove her breast implants. She explained, “I’ve been experiencing health issues for nearly 2 years now with the weirdest symptoms and finally discovered that I have breast implant illness.”

She expressed her eagerness to have the implants removed as soon as possible to regain her health, writing, “idk how i haven’t figured this out sooner but i’m so happy i finally have an answer. i’m hoping to get them removed asap so i can start feeling better.”

Sharing a pre-surgery photo, Sheen expressed a hint of disappointment, stating, “It’s definitely gonna be hard going back to this size. Not only physically, but mentally,” Yet, she emphasized that “it’s worth it” since she knows she will feel much better.

Breast Implant Side Effects, Including Capsular Contracture

Sheen detailed a range of symptoms she attributes to her silicone implants, including chronic fatigue, hair loss, allergic reactions, memory loss, acne, joint and muscle pain, severe anxiety, and brain fog.

Capsular contracture is widely recognized as the most common side effect following breast augmentation surgery. This condition occurs when the capsule of scar tissue around the implant hardens, causing the breast to feel unnaturally firm and painful. In severe cases, revision surgery may be necessary.

The symptoms Sheen described align with a spectrum of conditions associated with breast implants. While many individuals report similar issues, the breast cancer organization Breastcancer.org notes that there are currently no official medical diagnostic criteria for these conditions. In South Korea, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety is set to implement revised medical device laws this August, mandating long-term follow-up studies for breast implants.

Sheen wrote, “Not everyone who gets implants will get sick from them.” She stated that she was very unlucky, but added, “I’m also very grateful that i am fortunate enough to get them removed.”  She also urged others experiencing similar symptoms to take this as a sign and prioritize their health above all else.
