Samsung Electronics announced on Tuesday that it will begin rolling out the One UI 7 update on April 7. This update targets the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and other previously released flagship models. Galaxy users can experience a refreshed UX design and more advanced Galaxy AI features.

One UI 7 is designed to provide users with an intuitive and immersive mobile experience based on a simplified UI design. The update introduces expanded personalization options across the home screen, One UI widgets, apps, and lock screen, allowing users greater control over every element.

The “Now Bar” is a standout feature. It lets users check their real-time activities directly from the lock screen. For instance, users jogging outdoors can view their activity status without unlocking the phone or controlling music playback from the lock screen.

One UI 7 enhances Galaxy AI capabilities, offering more powerful AI-driven functions. AI Select understands the context on the screen and provides relevant suggestions such as translation, generative editing, and GIF creation. For example, when watching a video on a smartphone, users can click the AI Select icon, choose “Create GIF,” and easily save the current scene as a GIF file. Writing Assistant consolidates AI-powered text-related functions, including text summarization, translation, spell and grammar checking, and writing style adjustments, all in one place. Users can receive writing assistance without switching between apps, making the process more intuitive and efficient.

One UI 7 introduces AI-powered creative tools that make content creation more convenient and intuitive. Audio Eraser utilizes AI to classify and remove different sounds in recorded videos with just one click. It allows users to eliminate background noise, wind sounds, or even specific voices while adjusting volume levels as needed. Drawing Assistant enables users to create high-quality images from simple sketches using AI-powered enhancements, making the drawing process more seamless and accessible.

Additionally, One UI 7 enables users to complete tasks naturally through voice commands. By long-pressing the side button and saying, “Find an Italian restaurant nearby that allows pets,” the phone will instantly pull up restaurant options on the map, eliminating the need for manual searches.

The Settings app has been redesigned for greater convenience. Users can tap the search icon at the top of the Settings menu and enter text such as “My eyes feel tired” or say it aloud. The system will then suggest relevant display settings, such as brightness optimization, providing quick and intuitive recommendations.

The One UI 7 update will begin rolling out in South Korea, followed in phases by North America, Europe, and other regions.
