A group of teenagers in Austria has been arrested on charges of gang-raping and threatening a female teacher.

The Daily Mail reported, citing the local Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung

According to prosecutors, a 29-year-old female teacher was sexually assaulted twice last year by three boys. The perpetrators also set fire to the victim’s apartment in Vienna.

The perpetrators are known to have committed crimes in groups like a gang. The seven teenagers, aged 14 to 17, were from various nationalities, including Austria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Romania.

Prosecutors stated that a year before the crime, the teacher had an inappropriate relationship with one of the perpetrators, who was her student at the time, and had even become pregnant.

During the investigation, the female teacher claimed, “They recorded our sexual encounters and used the recordings as a means of blackmail. Later, they forced me to obtain drugs and even raped me. I was too ashamed and afraid of losing my job to report them.”

Currently, all seven perpetrators are under investigation for charges including rape, robbery, and arson.

The controversy took an unexpected turn after news of their crimes became public. The Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ) raised concerns about the perpetrators’ nationalities, arguing that Vienna has become a hub for asylum seekers and is no longer a safe place for women.

The party issued a statement claiming that due to this imported violence, Vienna is becoming a no-go zone for women. It called for the deportation of foreign criminals, an end to the asylum madness, the harshest possible punishment for the perpetrators, and enhanced safety measures for citizens.
