Hyundai Motor Company will launch the 2025 Porter II Electric on Wednesday. This latest model boasts significant improvements in performance and user experience, addressing customer feedback from previous versions.
The 2025 Porter II Electric showcases enhanced practicality and convenience through several notable upgrades. These include faster charging times, extended driving range, improved battery ground clearance, and an illuminated charging port for added convenience. To reduce charging times, Hyundai engineers increased the thickness of the high-voltage cable wiring, allowing for a higher charging current. As a result, fast-charging time from 10% to 80% battery capacity now takes only 37 minutes, down from 47 minutes in the previous model.
The truck’s 60.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack features new cells with improved energy density and reduced weight. As a result, the Porter II Electric now offers a single-charge range of 217 km (approximately 135 miles), an increase of 6 km over its predecessor. To address concerns about low ground clearance on unpaved rural roads, Hyundai raised the battery pack by 10 mm. Additionally, LED lighting has been integrated into the charging port for greater ease of use during nighttime charging.
Hyundai has also introduced a new entry-level trim called the “Style Special” to make the Porter II Electric more accessible. This economical variant starts at 43.25 million KRW (approximately $29,843), with government incentives yet to be determined.
A Hyundai spokesperson expressed optimism about the new model, stating, “The 2025 Porter II Electric, with its faster charging capabilities, enhanced practicality, and improved safety features, is poised to open up new business opportunities for our customers.”
