Biden Fights Off COVID Again, Works from Home Amid Health Scrutiny

Yonhap News

President Joe Biden has gone into isolation and canceled all his schedules after testing positive for COVID-19.

On the 17th, AP and other U.S. media outlets reported that President Biden tested positive for COVID-19 while en route to Las Vegas, Nevada. He will now work from his home in Delaware.

Biden was scheduled to deliver a speech to Latino voters in Las Vegas.

This is the third time Biden has tested positive for COVID-19. His White House physician, Kevin O’Connor, noted that he showed mild symptoms, including a runny nose, cough, upper respiratory symptoms, and general discomfort. Paxlovid has been prescribed for treatment.

The news of Biden’s positive COVID-19 test arrives when his health and stamina are under intense scrutiny, especially in light of the upcoming televised candidate debate.

White House Spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre emphasized that Biden had received his COVID-19 preventive vaccination and booster shot.

Biden also tested positive twice during the summer of 2022.

Recently, there has been an increase in emergency room visits and hospitalizations due to COVID-19, particularly in the southwestern region of the United States.
