Revolutionizing Tech: Apple and OpenAI Team Up to Boost Siri’s Brainpower

News1

On June 10, Apple unveiled an artificial intelligence (AI) system that integrated OpenAI’s ChatGPT into Apple’s voice assistant, Siri.

Pressuring to provide new AI features, Apple announced the AI system Apple Intelligence at WWDC2024, held at its headquarters in Cupertino, California.

Apple introduced various features of Apple Intelligence at the event.

With Siri at its core, Apple Intelligence assists in various tasks. Apple Intelligence will be installed in ChatGPT-4o and Siri by the end of 2024. In this regard, Apple explained that a message will be displayed asking Siri users whether they want to link with ChatGPT to get better answers.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said, “Built in Apple’s unique way, Apple Intelligence will become an essential part of Apple products already playing a vital role in our lives.”

However, Steve Wozniak, Apple’s co-founder, indirectly criticized its AI strategy in a TV appearance immediately after the WWDC2024 Apple Intelligence presentation.

Wozniak said, “If Apple has Apple Intelligence, then I have actual intelligence.” He took a jab at the lack of innovation in Apple’s AI strategy.

At WWDC 2024, Apple introduced Apple Intelligence, which summarises text, generates images, and searches for the most relevant data when needed.

Additionally, Apple added that Apple Intelligence, installed on iPhones, iPads, and Mac OS, understands language, images, and personal routines.

Apple showed AI features such as creating messages, images, and emojis with Apple Intelligence on their device. Apple emphasized that Apple Intelligence operates without collecting personal information.
