Necklace Saves Life in Colorado Gunfight, Suspect Arrested

Commerce City Police Department / JoongAng Ilbo

A man in the United States has miraculously survived a gunshot to the neck thanks to the chain he was wearing. The incident suddenly drew significant attention.

CNN and other sources reported on June 3 that a fight broke out between two unidentified men on May 29 in Commerce City, Denver, Colorado.

During the altercation, one man lost his temper and fired shots at the other, who was hit in the neck and collapsed on the spot.

However, the man was able to escape a potentially fatal situation. His life was saved because a bullet lodged in the 10mm wide metal chain he was wearing, helping him avoid a fatal gunshot wound.

Although his neck was injured, his life was saved thanks to the chain.

The Commerce City Police Department posted a photo on Facebook showing the bullet lodged in the necklace, complete with bloodstains.

Upon examining the photo released by the police, it is evident that a .22 caliber bullet was lodged in the chain the victim was wearing. The bloodstains on the chain are presumably due to the impact of the bullet hitting the necklace and the resulting wound on the neck.

The police stated, “The victim was hit by a .22 caliber bullet but survived thanks to his chain. Although the chain is silver in color, it’s likely that it’s not pure silver as it was able to stop the bullet.”

Meanwhile, the shooter was arrested at the scene and charged with attempted murder.
