Android Update Causes Screen Fluctuations and Dull Vibration on Pixel Phones

Google’s Pixel smartphone users have reported issues following a recent Android operating system update.

Complaints include unexpected screen dimming and reduced vibration intensity. While streaming on Netflix and YouTube, they’ve noticed the screen brightness fluctuating, dimming periodically before returning to normal.

The frequency of these brightness changes varies, with some reporting fluctuations every 10 seconds and others every few minutes. The issue appears inconsistent, with some users noticing it only when subtitles are activated and others facing the problem regardless of viewing content.

In addition to screen brightness issues, there have been issues with decreased vibration intensity. The Verge noted that Pixel phone users have described the vibrations as “less thumping” or having a “hollow feeling” following the update.

Google has yet to issue an official statement addressing these complaints.
