Harmony and Hunger: Taylor Swift Combats Food Insecurity on Tour

Yonhap News

It was recently revealed that American pop star Taylor Swift, who’s currently on her Eras World Tour, has been making consecutive donations to food banks in British cities.

According to The Guardian on the 26th (local time), Swift donated to a food bank in Cardiff, Wales, where she performed on the 18th.

While the Cardiff Food Bank did not disclose the exact amount of the donation, it revealed that it was the largest individual donation since its foundation.

Rachel Biggs, CEO of Cardiff Food Banks, explained, “Swift’s donation made it possible for us to purchase a truck filled with food and necessary supplies, which will provide three meals a day for three days, or a total of 18,000 meals, to 1,200 people.”

Swift had previously practiced sharing during her three-day performance in Liverpool.

The Saint Andrews Community Network, which operates 11 food banks in Liverpool, said, “Essentially, Swift has paid for our food costs for a year, which has given us a breath of fresh air in our operations.”

The Edinburgh Food Project in Edinburgh, Scotland, stated, “We received a donation big enough to make a significant change for the people we sponsor.”

Meanwhile, Swift, who is on a world tour, met with fans in various British cities this month. She will continue her performances next month in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. She is scheduled to resume her London performance in August.
