On Wednesday, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump nominated far-right Republican Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida as his pick for the next Attorney General.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump praised Gaetz for having the essential skills needed for reforming the Department of Justice, citing his unique record in Congress as evidence of his qualifications.

In response, Gaetz expressed his enthusiasm on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), saying, “It will be an honor to serve as President Trump’s Attorney General!”
