Next-Level Smart Glasses: Meta’s AR Innovation Sparks Market Surge!

Yonhap News

Meta has unveiled a prototype of its next-generation augmented reality (AR) smart glasses, Orion, leading to a surge in related stocks during the early trading session.

According to the Korea Exchange, on Friday, at 10:14 a.m., Maxst was trading at $2.09, up 29.86% from the previous day. NP rose 21.37% to $2.17, while Dexter increased by 12.71% to $6.09.

Other related stocks, such as Forbyfor and Skonec, also saw gains. Forbyfor was up 10.03%, trading at $5.27, while Skonec rose 14.41% to $3.03.

Analysts have linked the recent market rally to growing optimism in the tech sector following Meta’s unveiling of its new smart glasses. The company introduced the augmented reality (AR) device at its annual developer conference, Connect 2024, held on Wednesday. The device, worn like regular glasses, allows users to send text messages, make video calls, and even watch YouTube videos.
